BMB, BMU, bone alkaline phosphatase, ALP, urine NTX, NTX:creatinine ratio

Blood: gel (brown top) tube Urine: random urine in sterile 20ml universal.

Serum -  Samples are stored refrigerated prior to postage

Urine - Samples are stored refrigerated and send next day by first class post. For longer storage, e.g. over the weekend, samples are stored frozen and send on dry ice.

Expected turnaround time: 6 weeks

Used in the monitoring of metabolic bone disorders. Bone alkaline phosphatase is used as a serum bone marker, and urine NTX:creatinine ratio as a urine bone marker.
