Test indications

Suspected myeloproliferative neoplasm (Polycythaemia vera, essential thrombocythaemia, primary myelofibrosis)

Interferences

Contact referral laboratory for information. JAK2 negativity does not exclude myeloproliferative disease. Please discuss with Haematology if further testing is required (e.g. JAK2 exon 12, CALR, MPL).

Minimum retesting interval

JAK2 requests made within 90 days of a previous request on a patient are intervened.
